This selection presents three distinctive oolong teas that illustrate the impact of processing techniques, terroir, and cultivars. Our enduring passion for oolong is embodied in these compelling examples from our collection. Oolong tea is crafted from mature leaves that are oxidized after basket tossing or rolling, a process that activates enzymes to initiate oxidation and tannin development. Oolong exhibits the broadest oxidation range, from light green to very dark. Its signature profile features rich floral notes combined with natural sugars caramelized through high-heat drying. These three teas exemplify the full spectrum of oolong, from light to medium to dark roast.
Wen Shan Bao Zhong - A very lightly oxidized, open-leaf (the leaves are not rolled into a pellet shape) oolong tea that is exceptionally green, fresh, with deep notes of lotus.
Tie Guan Yin Classic - A low/mid oxidized oolong with a beautiful amber-colored brew. This varietal, known as the "Iron Goddess", is an heirloom to many hybrids created in the world and pays tribute to the tea tree cultivar it originates from in the Anxi region.
Old Tree Shui Xian 2022 - A single 8oz packet of an exquisite, handmade, low-temperature roasted Yancha. It is incredibly fragrant, exuding floral elements, and very similar to Dancong oolongs but with more structure and less astringency. One of our very best teas!
