Glass Studio 206 Banchi

Crafted by the husband and wife duo, Daisaku Hashimura and Michi Nomi, from handblown glass, this Raku-style chawan presents a lovely crackle effect and unique character. Its rustic aesthetic disguises a delicate, smooth touch and creates beautiful shadows when illuminated. Exquisite detail is evident in the indent of the foot, the angle of the walls, the "Chadame" where the matcha sits inside of the bowl, and the thickness of the lip. The tone of the glass is crystal clear, high-pitched, and indicative of its quality. Although making matcha with cold water produces less foam it enhances the natural sweetness and umami of our premium matcha selections.  This matcha bowl series was specially commissioned for Tea Dealers.
