Taste of Korea Tea Gift sets is the perfect gift for visiting friends and family during special occasions. This set represents the traditional and vibrant flavors of Korea.
Hwahoo - Late March is one of the earliest times to pick tea when there are barely any buds on the tree and snow is still on the ground. These are the first shoots and most aromatic, with an intense sweetness. Less than 5 pounds are made each year from sixty-year-old, semi-wild tea trees.
Buddha's Balhyo - Yearly commissioned by the same producer as Buddha's Woojeon and skillfully roasted to bring out the exquisite floral taste with cacao notes. This producer picks the amount of leaves ordered and allows the trees to grow a long and healthy life.
Roasted Sejak Twigs - Twigs contain a lot of tannins and are well suited for creating a pronounced taste and aroma that, combined with the terroir of Hadong, produce a wonderfully unique tea. The roasted notes bring some familiarity of Houjicha, but the origin and tea cultivar has a funky umami kick, unlike any roasted tea we've had before.
White Lotus - Delicately dried leaves of the white lotus bring out an excellent savory taste with deep floral notes.
Artemisia - Earthy, pungent sweetness, with notes of ripe pumpkin and toasted sesame seeds
Mistletoe - Woody, maple syrup, and extremely satisfying for the soul.
Mulberry - The dehydrated leaves of the white mulberry tree have a unique flavor that reminds us of turmeric, roasted chestnuts, white pepper
Wild Pear - Heirloom Wild Pears are ancestors of edible pears rich in vitamins. The taste is naturally sweet and slightly tart. Tastes best when steeped for long periods.
