Hand-hammered copper teapot made by Gyokusendo.
This selection of small teapots were commissioned in November to accommodate the brewing of our high-quality teas. The rule of practice for teapots is that the higher the quality of the tea, the smaller the brewing vessel to create a concentrated taste through shorter steepings and thoroughly enjoy each successive brewing. This teapot features a built-in strainer so you can put the tea directly in and allow it to fully expand and release its magnificent taste. Detailed with a dark wood knob on the lid and a handle wrapped in bamboo skin. Extremely lightweight for its sturdy appearance! Besides being indestructible, the benefits of a copper teapot are the conductive ability to maintain temperatures which results in a deeper release of flavors. These teapots particularly shine when using very high heat to extract the taste of old teas such as oolong and Puerh!
With regular use, a patina will develop that is unique to the owner of the teapot and the surface color will change.
