Ordi Dia is a stainless steel incense holder built around Nagae+'s own holding mechanism, "distilled to its simplest expression." Rather than gripping incense through a fixed hole — a method that fails as soon as a stick is too thin or too thick for the opening — Ordi Dia uses the weight of its own body to clamp incense between two tapering faces. The result holds bamboo-core sticks, standard incense, and coil incense alike, with equal stability.
The piece is machined from solid stainless steel and left uncoated, so the material's strength, precision, and weight carry the design. Its signature silhouette is a diabolo—pinched at the center—shaped to sit naturally between two fingers, so lifting the piece and pinching a stick of incense into place become one intuitive motion.
Dia-Curve is the softened counterpart to Dia-Line: the same pinched diabolo form, but resolved in a gently curved profile for a warmer, more organic presence.
