Yui Tsujimura
Yui Tsujimura creates unique, instantly recognizable works inspired by the 5th-century Sueki pottery style. Sueki originated in ancient southwest Korea and marked a significant technological advancement in pottery, greatly influencing Japanese culture, especially in relation to Buddhism and the aristocratic class.
Yui has created a monochrome world using shades of gray, blue, and green. Despite the limited color palette, it possesses remarkable depth and expression. This green comes from his natural ash glaze that embellishes pale white body of his pottery. His emerald green lagoons, visible in the concave of his chawan and cups, capture a pure and timeless beauty.
