Gong-fu style pieces are intended for the traditional Chinese tea and Japanese Sencha ceremony, as the teapots, cups, and pitchers are very small. Smaller vessels heighten the sensory experience and are preferred for our tastings. Each piece is formed using the lampworking technique and is made of high borosilicate heat-resistant glass and gold and silver foil.
Born in Jingdezhen, Wang Qin draws upon deep ceramic heritage while advancing his artistic vision through masterful exploration of glass as a contemporary medium. He describes his approach as creating a dialogue with the material to achieve a "harmonious connection" between his intent and the glass's nature. This respect is evident in his meticulous process, where he reportedly destroys up to 60% of his works that fail to meet his standards, ensuring only perfection reaches the public.
