This Yancha varietal takes its name from its characteristic growth pattern—a squat shrub with petite, rounded leaves. Distinguished by its grounded, mineral-forward profile, Ai Jiao deliberately sidesteps floral notes to highlight deep earthy and nutty dimensions. Produced through time-tested techniques passed down through generations of skilled artisans, this tea originates from ancient cultivars grown in the Wuyi Mountain Gorge, where traditional craftsmanship ensures authentic complexity in every infusion. In 2026 we celebrate our ninth year working with the Ye family of Wuyishan: Master Ye Qitong, who led the creation of the national standard samples for Wuyi Yancha, and his sister Master Ye Ruyu, founder of Yan Zhu. We are honored to serve as the first exclusive international ambassador of Master Ye Qitong’s brand.
