老曼峨生普 Harvest April 10, 2025, Pressed April 26, 2025
Sheng puerh from Lao Man'e is prized for its intense bitterness that evolves into a deep, lasting sweetness, complemented by strong cha qi (tea energy). This distinctive character results from the village's rich tea-growing history and particular growing conditions.
Lao Man'e is a historically important Bulang village. Its name translates to "a village filled with tea trees" in the Bulang language. The ancient tea gardens there showcase the long tradition of tea cultivation by the ancestors of the Bulang people. This strong link to tea cultivation helps shape the distinct character of their tea.
Lao Man'e is located in the Bulang Mountain region. The area's climate—described as having "no severe cold in winter, no severe heat in summer, and spring-like weather throughout the year"—combined with its unique soil composition, supports the tea's strong character. The tea gardens are situated at approximately 1,600 to 1,650 meters above sea level.
