Classic old arbor Lao Ban Zhang cake from the Northwest side of the Bu Lang Shan Mountain region, famous for old-growth tea trees. Trees that are several hundred years old are labeled as Kings. Over the years, the qualifying age and the total number of King trees have significantly dropped. Trees that once qualified at 1000-1200 years old in 2001 now qualify at only 300 years of age.
Privately commissioned and dry stored at the processing facility located in Menghai. This vintage is regarded as one of the very best, and after twenty years of aging, it has reached its peak, demonstrating the true power of the Bu Lang Mountains. The intensity is impressive on both the nose and the palate, with a thick amber liquor that is elegant and captivating. The unique taste of aged tea, Chen Xiang (陈香), is present throughout without hinting of must. One of the finest cakes we have ever offered that will brew for several hours without diminishing.
