Fall 2025 Harvest
The wild chrysanthemum harvested from the pristine mountains surrounding Guilin is highly valued for its unopened buds. These buds produce a more concentrated, aromatic, and potent infusion compared to cultivated varieties. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this cooling herb is believed to eliminate heat and toxins, support liver health, and enhance vision—making it a classic remedy for sore throats, red eyes, and mild fevers. Its initial taste is noticeably bitter and acrid, but it quickly transitions to a clean, floral sweetness with subtle honey notes. When combined with Shou Puerh (ripe pu-erh tea), the blend's earthy, smooth, and slightly sweet profile softens the chrysanthemum's bitterness, while the flower adds a refreshing, cooling lift that balances Puerh’s richness. This pairing offers a harmonious experience: warming yet revitalizing, rich yet smooth, often enjoyed after hearty meals to aid digestion and clear excess moisture from the system.
