四大名丛 "Four Great Nobles"
Si Da Ming Cong is a legendary group of tea cultivars from the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian Province, China. They represent the pinnacle of Yancha "Rock Tea", a category of Oolong tea known for its mineral-rich, complex flavor profile, often called "rock rhythm" (岩韻 - Yan Yun). Think of them as the "royal family" of Oolongs and the Wuyi region as the "Burgundy" of tea. They are not just specific teas, but rather unique, ancient varietals (cultivars) that have been cultivated for centuries, each with its own distinct character in a small three-mile gorge with a special mineral composition in the soil.
This collection is among the final created by Tea Master Ye Qitong, reflecting his advanced age. Each of the four teas is meticulously handcrafted from beginning to end, sourced from the finest old-growth trees in the core of the Wuyi Valley. Under Qitong’s careful supervision, the processing highlights the distinctive character of each noble tea. Sampling this series offers a journey through the rich heritage of the region. Every tea evokes deep emotion, leaving a lasting impression through its remarkable flavor and aroma. The packaging features an artistic depiction of the valley and its iconic peaks, created by Master Ye Qitong’s granddaughter, representing the next generation of Wuyi tea masters.
This year, 2025, we commemorate our eighth year working with the studio of the legendary Tea Master Ye Qitong and have been appointed the first exclusive international ambassador of his extraordinary brand. It is a great honor to be recognized as a Tea company whose love of tea, research, and education aligns with Master Ye's vision.
