The body of this coffee kettle is raised from copper sheet by hand, struck over iron anvils and repeatedly heated and cooled so the metal can be worked into a rounded form. The spout and handle are made separately and attached to the finished body. The crescent wave pattern comes from the hammer marks themselves, so each kettle differs. Its color is oxidized onto the surface and sealed with natural Japanese tree wax, which fades gradually with use and deepens the luster. At 900ml, it is sized for pour-over brewing.
*When placing the kettle on the stove, it is recommended to use the smallest burner, keeping the flame on medium/low, to avoid the flame climbing up the sides and leaving marks on the kettle.
