Taki Nakazato
Minimalist iron glaze plate with a spiral pattern. The color, texture, and thin application of the glaze exhibit the shape of this wonderful vessel that is perfect for side dishes, sharing plates, or even a tea boat!
Taki began studying under his father, the legendary Takashi Nakazato, at the age of 23 and has honed his skills to become an incredible artist at the wheel. We have always been enamored by Taki Nakazato's ceramics and their sense of balance, detail, and size. The feel in the hand is extraordinary, light and delicate despite the strong character of each piece. The perfect silhouette reveals a refinement that three decades of ceramic experience can achieve.
Our first visit to Taki's kiln was in 2016 and his collection of cups were displayed in our old retail store in Williamsburg. It brings back many happy memories and we are excited to introduce this amazing artist and his works to all of our new tea friends.
