Pattern: Raiu Kasa Jinbutsumon, Thunderstorm Umbrella Person Motif
Hand-painted, bespoke porcelain houhin featuring ancient Japanese and Chinese design patterns often found on vintage kimonos, kimono belts, scrolls, and Kobukusa (chawan silk brocade cloths). Some are considered "Meibutsu," or a distinguished pattern from ancient Chinese nobility. The patterns often depict flowers, landscapes, whimsical characters, or mythical creatures from folklore. Each piece takes two months to complete due to the intricacy of the work and multiple firings since different colors have different temperatures.
