Bizen style glaze with wonderful dripping and dual tones in a persimmon shape
Teapot specialists are a very rare breed! Teapot-making requires a lot of experience, skill, and a strict work ethic. Each part (body, spout, strainer, lid, and handle) of a teapot is wheel thrown and made independently. Wood-fired teapots are the most difficult because the results are unpredictable and at least 30% of them are destroyed in the high heat. However, the pieces that do make it through the trial of fire are magnificent. Every single kyusu is one of a kind and filled with character. The salt glazing technique results in a rainbow of colors and gives these perfect pieces a life of their own. Don't be fooled, they are perfect tools! Despite the appearance, they are incredibly lightweight, pour perfectly, and will make every pot of tea taste better than the next!
Please noted that the dimensions give you an overall understanding of the size, but ultimately it's the volume that indicates how much tea can be made in this vessel. We understand how difficult it is to get a sense of the size so we have carefully measure every piece.
