Huang Shan Wild Arbor 2018 "Desolate Mountain"
Pre Qing Ming (around April 5th) picked Huang Shan is a great introduction to the ancient tree (wild arbor) tea world which is made from 70-year-old trees. The strength, vitality, and taste characteristics are a perfect benchmark to test against other "wild arbor" Puerh. The cakes are traditionally hand-pressed into 400g cakes that can be broken apart completely by hand without the use of a pick. This helps the tea leaves from being broken easily and creates a very smooth brew in the cup. The leaves will brew quickly and you don't need excess heat to draw out flavors until much later brewing. We recommend pairing this with the 2019 Huang Shan as a vintage comparison!
