Ming Qian Long Jing 明前龙井 (March 12, 2023 harvest)
Masterfully hand-made Dragon Well by the 3rd generation Wang family on their 100-year-old tea farm. The tea is traditionally processed on a heated iron pan by hand-pressing in multiple steps until completely dried. This laborious task is accomplished only by experienced tea makers who can shape and fire delicate leaves within a few seconds without burning or damaging and retaining all the natural essence. The goal is to balance the aroma while creating a long deep taste without any vegetal aftertaste. The wonderful aroma created by the high-temperature pan is like fresh fruit bread from the oven but disappears mysteriously after the first brew leaving behind a bouquet of tropical fruits and a resonating fresh sharpness.
Here are three brewing techniques to skillfully make Long Jing Dragon Well, depending on the time of year you buy it.
